Wear resistance – capability of linoleum to resist the mechanical loadings influencing it in use.
Wear resistance depends on linoleum thickness (if linoleum is single-layer or homogeneous) or on thickness of a high protective layer (if linoleum is multilayer or heterogeneous). Also from extent of attrition of material (i.e rate of loss of thickness at certain loadings) namely after Taber abrasion meter (Taber’s test) makes 25 000 turnovers, the control measurement is made, by degree of resistance to loss of thickness linoleum materials are divided into four groups:
- practically it is not erased (group T) – material with protection from clean PVC. At tests it is erased on 0,08 mm and less;
- it is poorly erased (group P) – average degree of wear. Wearing of a high layer – from 0,08 to 0,15 mm;
- it is moderately erased (group M) – the weak resilience to attrition. When checking from 0,15 to 0,3 mm of a protective layer are lost;
- it is strongly erased (group F) – material with unacceptably large amount of impurity – more than 65%. Its durability to attrition is very low – from 0,3 to 0,6 mm.
According to the received European certificates, linoleum of TM “LINOPLAST” concerns to group “T” what it is specified and is confirmed in the European certificate of EN 650: 2013 (E) received by our enterprise in 2013.
